Kids-Friendly Dining – Coco’s Italian Market
I am always on the look-out for kid-friendly restaurants that also serve up delicious food for the parents. There are so many themed-restaurants (I.e. Rainforest Cafe) where I can barely choke down the mediocre food. Nashville, thankfully, meets my need my foodie-needs and also serves up some restaurants where kids can enjoy the meal as much as the parents. One of my favorite is Coco’s Italian Market.
Coco’s Italian Market
Located off Charlotte Ave, near Sylvan Park, Coco’s serves a huge variety of Italian dishes, from pizza to hot subs to delicious pasta. They also have an Italian Market with both pre-prepared dishes for you to take home and all the components of a delicious meal if you choose to make it yourself.
Bocce Ball While You Wait
They boast a bocce ball court if you do find yourself waiting for a table or just want to enjoy a beer outside on a nice Nashville day. We visited this year to carb up before the half-marathon and played bocce for a solid hour while waited for our table. The kids barely even noticed the wait.
Enjoy the Patio
The main reason it rises to the top of my kid-friendly list is the patio. On a nice days, it’s wonderful to soak in the sun and breeze. During winter months, they run their heaters and it’s still a very pleasent experience.
Play for the Kiddos
What really makes the kids love it? The play kitchen. Nine times out of ten, the kids don’t even follow me to the table. We walk out on the patio, and they immediately run to the play kitchen. They bake cookies and make pizzas and occasionally visit my table to taste their creations. I’ve sat and watched my kids play with all of the other children, play in their own little world, all while the the pizza is cooling down. The kids menu actually boasts lots of options, with my son almost always going for the spaghetti and meatball. Yes, meatball singular because it’s HUGE!
My favorite, the food, keeps us coming back. It’s delicious and I’ve rarely had even a mediocre meal here. The deserts are to die for.
My husband and bestie got me an entire Chocolate Explosion cake for my birthday this year and that was the only present I needed! The cannolis are also amazing, with chocolate chips inside.
