Disney Resort Check-in on the MyDisneyExperience App
The Disney Resort Check-In process just got even easier! The online check-in already made it a breeze, but you can now check in via the MyDisneyExperience app. Just check-in on your phone, drop your bags at the Bell Hop and head to the Parks. You’ll get a text when your room is ready and away you go!
Timing
Sixty days prior to your arrival, you can check in to your Disney Resort. The MyDisneyExperience app actually alerts you as you are counting down to check-in. This is also a very important day for planning as it is the first day you can book your FastPass+ selections if you are staying on-site. For more information on how FastPass+ works, you can find my related article here.
Easy as 1, 2, 3
It actually took longer to write this post than it did to complete the Disney Resort Check-In on the MyDisneyExperience app.
Click the Blue Button
As soon as your check-in is ready, you will see it available in your app. All you have to do is click the blue button to proceed to your check-in.
Enter Notification Information
The next step in your Disney Resort Check-In is providing your contact information for room notifications. Disney can email and text you when your room becomes available. You actually have the option to skip the front desk entirely, and proceed straight to your room based on a text now!
Your Arrival and Charges
The final step in the Disney Resort Check-in on the MyDisneyExperience App is reviewing your arrival and setting up everything for your MagicBand. If you didn’t enter your arrival information when you booked your trip you can set it up now. You also enter the credit card information you would like on file during your trip and select a PIN. Your MagicBand allows you to travel throughout the resort without needing to carry anything else. You can charge meals and purchases throughout the parks to your credit card using your magic band and your PIN number. For more information on Magic Bands, check out the Guide to Disney’s MagicBand.
You’re Done!
You will get a final confirmation that you have checked in, and you are now set for your arrival.
Next Steps
- FastPass+
- If you haven’t already, schedule your FastPass+ experiences. One of the biggest perks of staying on-site is getting to schedule these 60 days in advance of a trip. Normal visitors only get 30 days so you can snag up the best rides. If you don’t know what to pick yet, I have some suggestions in another FastPass+ post.
- Transportation
- If you signed up for Disney’s Magical Express (which I highly recommend if you are flying in to Orlando), you will get some mail from Walt Disney World with instructions on how to set up your arrival.
- Restaurants and Dining
- Since you are in the App anyway, you can also make some dining reservations. Dining Reservations open up 180 days prior, so there may be some restaurant you can’t book. These include Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Royal Table. For most others, you still have time to get a good reservation time. If you are looking for Character meals, I have a full comparison in the Disney Character Dining post.
- Wait for the text!
- A text will magically arrive with your room number and your magical time at Walt Disney World awaits!
